Wii Rechargeable Battery

Most of the recharging systems for the Wii Remote (WiiMote) require the WiiMote to be dropped into a holder, and so cannot fit with the sleeve fitted.

The connection for this system is cable charged, and so allows the sleeve to remain fitted to the WiiMote. (Only a small hole is required, and careful cutting would create a flap that keeps even the charging socket safe!

My concern is that I want it to fit a USB-MiniB connecotr (like some phones and computer accessories use) so that I don’t have to have any cables leading from my (otherwise) cable-free and hidden Wii. And I’m not getting a response from Psyclone to confirm that bit of information.

I bought two of these the other day and they do not charge at all. When plugged in, the charge indicator does not flash, or come on at all. Even with the usb cable plugged in the controller does not power on. I hate to put another bad review on Psyclones already damaged reputation, but this product didn’t work for me at all. Did not charge in or out of the controller. Tried on multiple usb power sources including the wii, the ps3, and a wall-jack usb charger. Fail.

Bought this item a while back. The battery would not hold its charge long. Even if left plugged in overnight. Also when playing, the wiimote would not respond and flash all lights. Bought some rechargeable batteries instead.

Old info: (Amazon won’t let me change my rating, so…entire new review.)

Information on the product said it should last about 13 hours.

After the second time I charged it, I played about four hours one day and a little over six the next. So it lasted maybe ten hours. (Close enough.)

However, I’ve noticed that the battery seems to lose its charge VERY quickly when I’m not even using it, as when I go too long between uses.

I’ve found that I can only use it four or five hours on a charge — at most — between charging if I go more than a day between uses.

I realize that all batteries will ultimately lose their charge even when they’re not in use, but there’s no reason for it to lose the charge that quickly.

New info:

Turns out my remote has been giving me problems lately with ALL batteries of any kind.

I still would recommend the induction charger, at least if you have a glove kit for your remotes that you don’t want to peel off or damage (like the hole I had to cut in mine to get to the USB port on this one), but this product is great, otherwise. Great theory, at least.

Edit: Got my remote back from Nintendo; it seems to work just fine with normal batteries (rechargeable or not), but the Wii kept losing the connection to the remote when I used this thing on Wii Sports Resort.

I could keep this product plugged in and play at the same time without that problem (via a spare USB cord–the one that comes with the product is way too short for that, and even my long spare puts me right up in front of the TV), but when I try to play without the cord, it keeps losing the connection, even when the pack is fully charged.

Not sure how much is the pack (it might have been damaged by whatever caused problems with the original remote) and how much is problems with the remote (don’t know whether Nintendo repaired it or replaced it, so I don’t know if problems still exist).

Will check other games, and check again when I buy myself a new remote. I’m willing to assume that this product had simply been damaged, and I’m willing to get a new one (maybe two, if I decide that this one’s damaged), one of these days…assuming I don’t just go with the Energizer Induction charger.

You can recharge it using an USB port. After like a year of use, IT STILL WORK PERFECTLY !!, other batteries that I try die in three month or less.
